BC – Battery rebate changes + new contractor requirement notice

BC Hydro announced that its residential battery rebate structure will change effective April 1, 2026, tying higher incentives to Peak Saver participation and restricting non-enrolled battery-only installs. BC Hydro posted that business solar + storage rebate eligibility will require HPCN-member installation starting June 1, 2026.

CanNor (Yukon / Federal) — Funding for modular BESS field testing (remote/off-grid relevance)

CanNor announced up to $99,999 to Solvest Inc. to develop and field test a modular battery energy storage system (“PowerPod”) aimed at reducing diesel use and improving reliability in remote locations.
SaskPower is seeking a 3.9% rate increase effective Feb 1, 2026 (implemented on an interim basis, subject to review).
