The flexible energy storage systems are the latest response to combat natural disasters.
As noted by the World Meteorological Organization, natural disasters have increased by five times over 50 years, but mortality from said disasters has decreased by three times as much. This is due to the combined efforts of individuals – climate experts, architects, policymakers – and advancements in technology, such as battery energy storage systems.
As climate change poses a relentless threat, the World Wide Fund for Nature warns that carbon emissions must quickly be reduced and U.S. cities should prepare to adapt to extreme weather.
