TROES’ CEO Vienna Zhou Highlighted in ONEIA’s Women in the Environment and Cleantech Sector Forum
MARKHAM, ON, CANADA, July 6, 2021 – TROES’ CEO Vienna Zhou recently participated in a virtual event hosted by Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA) celebrating the purpose of women leaders in the environment and cleantech industry.
The half-day virtual event hosted on June 23rd highlighted how the environment and cleantech sectors can tap the hidden potential of a more diverse workforce. The event featured a panel of women leaders followed by a quick pitch competition and networking session. Vienna and 3 other female leaders and innovators participated in the quick pitch competition where each contestant had five minute presentations to pitch their cleantech solution.

This event allowed attendees to learn from the experience of successful women leaders in the Ontario environment and cleantech industry and while provided networking opportunities to connect with emerging leaders across the sector. Research shows that having women in businesses at executive levels improves financial outcomes for those companies. A Statistics Canada study conducted in 2017 showed that only 28% of those who work across a(all?) levels in the environment and cleantech sector are women.
